April Showers Bring May Flowers
Alfie's Floral Wallpaper Favorites

As the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers,” and at Rowan Hall Interiors, we’re ready to welcome the blooming season with open arms and vibrant walls. Our owner, Alfie Rowan, has a special fondness for wallpapers, especially those adorned with enchanting florals and charming birds hidden within the intricate patterns. Today, we’ll explore some of our favorite floral wallpapers that add a touch of nature’s beauty to our designs.

Zen Vibrance

“Pagoda Trees” in lavender and blue from Thibaut

If you didn’t know from our latest reel, Alfie loves any excuse to incorporate a chinoiserie pattern in her designs–if only so she can say the word a hundred times! Hidden pagodas and birds run through this bold pattern. It may be loud for a wallpaper, but we’re not against it! This pattern would also make a gorgeous pillow or a fabulous drapery statement.

For Alfie, a wallpaper isn’t complete without a subtle avian presence (in case you hadn’t noticed). This choice seamlessly integrates elegant birds within a tapestry of blooming flowers, creating a harmonious blend of sophistication and nature. The Asian influences of pagodas and zen garden florals make this whimsical chinoiserie the perfect choice in an eclectic home.

Asian Elegance

“Asian Scenic” in purple and blue from Thibaut

For something with a similar style but more subtle color palette, we would opt for something like this from Thibaut. Our bold powder room renovation from our IDS award-winning project is the perfect showing for this beautiful pattern. We paired it with a vibrant blue vanity and brass accents for a small-but-mighty bathroom!

This wallpaper is a more detailed Zen garden landscape with flowing water, pagodas, people and lush trees. Technically it’s not a floral pattern, so it plays a bit less feminine, especially in some of the other colorways. We just happen to prefer a bright showing of blue, purple and green!

Whimsical Garden Symphony

“Rosalind” in blush from Thibaut

This toile illustration pattern is a more subdued way to bring florals into your home, especially if you fancy a bit of a vintage vibe. This one pictured brings a feminine touch with a beautiful blush colorway that brings in a nice neutral taupe and shades of blue/green. Each of the other colorways brings a completely different feel, showing how versatile this pattern can be.

The enchanting wallpaper brings a whimsical garden to life with a combination of blossoms and delicate birds. Alfie’s appreciation for those details shines in this choice, where each petal and feather tells a story of nature’s elegance.

Serene Meadow Retreat

“Wild Flower” in beige from Thibaut

For an even more subdued floral, we may opt for something like this Wild Flower pattern. The neutral options are more universal with a touch of botanical femininity. This one in particular has a sisal finish, giving a touch of texture that would make any space feel effortlessly organic.

We would use this wallpaper to transform any space into a serene meadow retreat that captures the essence of a peaceful flower-filled landscape. Alfie adores the calming effect these floral patterns bring to bedrooms and reading nooks. The subtlety of this choice could be used in a variety of designs and locations, which makes it a winner in our book!

Nature’s Tapestry

“Indienne Jacobean” in green from Thibaut

If there’s one thing Alfie loves, it’s a large-scale floral. This one is beautiful in every colorway, but you know we are drawn to those greens and blues. This one pictured is reminiscent of many of the color trends Alfie saw at Market this year. She saw pops of purple and soft pinks trending, cool greens, and hints of yellow, which are each incorporated into this pattern.

Nature’s intricate tapestry unfolds in this wallpaper, showcasing a rich blend of flowers and foliage. This Jacobean print is a picture of timelessness, as this style originated in the early 17th century and is still impactful today. These modern hues mixed with a vintage floral make for an eternally classic pattern.

Secret Garden Blossoms

“Meadow” in blush from Thibaut

Another large-scale floral with a secret garden feel is adorned by blossoms in various stages of bloom. Alfie gasped over this fabric in our most recent Thibaut unboxing video on Instagram, and she gushed over the color combinations and inclusion of neutrals throughout the pattern.

The blush colorway has neutrals ranging from light taupes to deep browns, which means this wallpaper would play nicely with a wide range of others. The sage colorway is a versatile dream. Shades of cream, taupe, brown and black make this the perfect floral to tie together an entire room. Needless to say, this new arrival will soon be seen in a Rowan Hall design!

Petal Poetry

“Laura” in lavender and green from Thibaut

Alfie’s love for floral wallpapers extends far and wide, and this choice is one of her newer favorites. We recently displayed this pattern at the Knoxville Home Show with McLain’s Painting. They were showing off their new wallpaper installation service, which makes us pretty giddy at Rowan Hall! In addition to our typical paint consultations we do with McLain’s painting customers, we now offer a wallpaper consultation!

This pattern displayed beautifully. We adore the mix of tulips and hydrangeas, and this colorway is a bright, vibrant take on classic colors. Blues and greens can be really timeless, and this brighter look is a fun way to dress up a space.

Where Wallpaper Meets Artistry

Alfie’s passion for floral prints and patterns goes far beyond wallpaper. She’s impartial when it comes to botanicals! Throw pillows, window treatments, artwork, furnishings… The possibilities are endless! Each thoughtfully designed piece is a reflection of our dedication to creating interiors that not only please the eye but also tells stories of natural beauty and hidden wonders.
